Simulation studies are an important part of validation for any statistical tool. In the context of Bayesian models, there are consistency results that can be used to check that the implementation of a model or an inference algorithm is correct. The SBC package aims to make this task easier by providing the necessary scaffolding and integrating with multiple packages for exact and approximate Bayesian inference. The package is best used within an iterative workflow of model checking and development, which will be also briefly outlined.
