Summer school of single cell – from the lab to data analysis

We are inviting you to join our unique Single-cell summer school which covers all important steps during immune cell processing, sample preparation for single-cell sequencing and data analysis.

This eight days intensive hands-on school focuses on experiment design, sample selection and preparation, quality control, sequencing, understanding NGS data formats, sequence editing, read mapping, handling potential problems and finally data interpretation.

The school was established as a result of long-term cooperation of Charles University with the University of West Bohemia and with the cooperation with London South Bank University, University of Warsaw, University of Pennsylvania and 4EU+ Members.

The school is intended for students and young researchers with at least basic wetlab skills. Capacity of Summer school is limited, only 20 participants can be included. The participants will be selected based on their application by expert committee.

Programe

Day 1 (Wed, Sept. 4) – Welcome and Lectures
Day 2 (Thu, Sept. 5) – Basic training for wet lab and data analysis
Day 3 (Fri, Sept. 6) – Wet lab day 1
Day 4 (Sat, Sept. 7) – Wet lab day 2
Day 5 (Sun, Sept. 8) – Day-off
Day 6-8 (Mon, Sept. 9-11) – Data analysis (and barbecue party)

Venue

Wet lab part will take place at:

  • Biomedical Center of the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University (Alej Svobody 1655/76)

In silico lab – data analysis part at:

  • New Technologies for the Information Society Research Centre (NTIS) of Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of West Bohemia (Technická 9).
